“Why Go Out of State?” Presentation
This event is typically offered in the evening, but can be done during the day in conjunction with a day mini fair. This popular presentation provides students and their families with information about options that exist beyond California and the associated benefits of considering an out-of-state institution. We will demystify the admission process and cost of attendance, offer examples of scholarship opportunities and other financial aid, discuss student life and diversity, among other helpful information to help students find their match school.
Following the 20-30 minute presentation, the admission representatives in attendance will present short snapshots of their respective institutions. The evening concludes with a college fair, allowing students to benefit from the contacts they make and ideas they explore.
What’s needed to host this event on your campus?
Auditorium/area with AV equipment and a sound system.
Tables to accommodate the participating colleges during the college fair.
One chair per table.
Fall 2025 RACC Signature events, such as Mini Fairs, Mock Admissions Case Studies, and Why Go Out of State presentations, are open. Fall 2025 event requests will close on August 15th. Your respective Vice Chairperson will reach out to you after May 1st to provide additional information on your request.
